Seventy-five days before Saddam Hussein was captured by the U.S. Army, an Iraqi-Canadian filmmaker tries to re-enter his homeland after 27 years of forced exile. In Jordan, he meets other Iraqis who are no longer able to cross the border: workers without jobs, truckers, cab drivers and anxious refugees. Worn down by years of war, sanctions, arbitrary arrests, torture and fear of execution, the men angrily recall the darkest years of the fallen regime. Still stunned by the course of events and uncertain about the future, they have no faith in the Americans, whom they believe are out for their oil. “Are we another Palestine?” asks one of them. Shot in the thick of the action amid the ongoing chaos, the film reveals Iraqi opinions and their versions of the unfolding story.

يتحدث هذا الفيلم عن حالة الشباب في مدينة دهوك التي تقع في شمال العراق ضمن اقليم كوردستان حيث توجد منطقة قريبة من مركز المدينة وهي منطقة جبلية وجميلة وتوجد فيها بحيرة صغيرة انشاء عليها سد دهوك يتجمع هناك الشباب وعلى شكل مجاميع صغيرة ومنفردة حيث يشربون بكل حرية هناك الخمر ويسهرون لساعات متاخرة من الليل طبعا هذه الحالة تعكس هروب هؤلاء الشباب الى هذه المناطق كي ياخذو كل حريتهم ليشربو ويفعلوا ما يحلو لهم لانهم لا يستطعيون فعل ذلك امام الجميع وخاصة مع انعدام اماكن خاصة ومريحة او بالمستوى المطلوب وخوفا من الجانب الديني الذي لا يسمح بالشرب خاصة من قبل اهاليهم فحالة هذا الشاب هي نموذج لما يعيشوه الشباب وعدم توفر اماكن للهو والسهر تكون خاصة بالشباب مثل الديسكو او الملاهي لذا فيلجؤن الى انشاء عالم خاص بهم بعيدا عن عيون الناس والرافضين لما يقومون به .

نجلاء السندي مراسلة لفضائية كردستان، كانت تعمل مراسلة من مكتب بغداد ونتيجة التهديدات التي تعرضت لها نزحت مع عائلتها الى قضاء زاخو لتمكل عملها من هناك. تحدثنا نجلاء عن المصاعب التي تواجه النساء الصحفيات وخاصة نظرة الرجال للمرأة العاملة. نعم نظرة الرجال للنساء العاملات في مجال الاعلام وهي نظرة دونية خاصة لدى تلك الطبقة التي مازالت متمسكة بالاعراف والتقاليد المزيفة والتي وجدت لتقييد الانسان وانتهاك حريته وكل حسب مصلحته الخاصة بحيث ينظرون الى المرأة كونها فقطخلقت للبيت والفراش وعندما تعمل خارج المنزل فهذا حرام فما بالك لو كانت تعمل في مهنة او مجال تظهر على العالم وفي التلفزيون وتحتك يوميا بالعديد من الرجال وباصناف متعددة كيف ؟؟؟ تعمل في هذا المجال عيب وحرام !!! بحيث تكون هناك صعوبة في ان تتزوج هذه المرأة .
